WHO CAN PARTICIPATE:
Boys and girls U6-U11, will be placed on a team according to his or her age group. Each team will be assigned a RSL AZ Excel professional coach and practice two times a week. Team practice days and times are determined by our RSL AZ Excel coaches availability and are announced after the late registration period. All interested players are encouraged to sign up online before the deadline. There are no player tryouts. Teams will only be formed in each age group if enough players in the age group have registered for the program. Roster sizes are limited at each age group so please register early to insure a roster spot. Rosters are filled on a first come first serve basis. Special player’s friend requests will be considered up until the regular registration deadline date as long as players are in the same age group. There are no special coach requests but we do try and place players with coaches from the previous season if possible. Teams will not be rearranged to accommodate requests made during the late registration period for the season. We feel this program gives players a more advanced level of instruction and can help better prepare players for RSL AZ tryouts in May if they choose to explore that option.
NOTE: RSL AZ players are not permitted to play on any RSL AZ Recreational or RSL AZ Excel team during any of the three RSL AZ Recreational/Excel seasons: Fall, Winter, and Spring.
EXCEL PHILOSOPHY:
Our RSL AZ Excel program is open to all Boys and Girls in the U6 to U11 age groups that are looking for a high quality atmosphere in which to increase their playing ability. To accomplish this goal, the RSL AZ Excel program will include a fun and competitive teaching environment based on age an appropriate curriculum and club style of play. The RSL AZ Excel program will offer players and parents a glimpse at our competitive RSL AZ program and the professionalism that comes with it. Instruction is based on the RSL AZ Player/Team development program under our Director of Coaching. Sometimes RSL AZ Excel teams will play up one age group in a flighted age bracket within our recreational league. When we get enough RSL AZ Excel registrations in a age group we'll form a division of only RSL AZ Excel teams who will only compete against other RSL AZ Excel teams.
