PHOENIX (Thursday, October 7, 2021) -- RSL AZ is pleased to announce the appointment of Garrett Cleverly as the Director of Marketing & Communications.  

Cleverly comes to RSL AZ with more than 10 years experience promoting the game at every level in Arizona. Prior to joining RSL AZ, Cleverly served as the Director of Communications for the Arizona Soccer Association (ASA) while assisting US Youth Soccer's National League Desert Conference and Olympic Development Program. Cleverly was previously with the Grande Sports Academy and was instrumental in the inaugural season launches of USL's Arizona United SC (2013) and NPSL's FC Arizona (2017) - both clubs which still compete today.

Cleverly launched AZKicksIt in 2012 as the first ever website dedicated to covering soccer in Arizona. Through it he covered soccer in Arizona alongside coverage of MLS Cups, MLS All-Star Games, and U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Team matches. He has been featured on Arizona Sports 98.7, AZ Family's 3TV, FOX 10, and CBS 5. Outside of soccer, Cleverly has developed and led marketing efforts for Moon Valley Nurseries, Hyundai, eegee's, Earnhardt Auto Dealerships, Peoria Sports Complex, and Nationwide Vision.
