Boys Markette right wing Timothy Stanly is this week's Chapman Automotive Group RSL AZ Student-Athlete of the Week.

Timothy, an eighth-grader at Basis School of Ahwatukee, is a member of the National Junior Honor Society and volunteers at Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), where he helps pack meals for the less fortunate families. These meals are shipped all over the world and this year he celebrated his birthday at FMSC with close friends and families and packed 66 boxes of food that will feed about 36 kids for a year. This past week, he and his classmates packed 99 boxes. On the field, he leads his team in goals and assists.

"Timothy "Big Tim" is a well-rounded representation of RSL AZ's values," said RSL AZ South 08 Boys head coach Nick Markette. "He works hard, is a great teammate, excels in the classroom, and gives in the community."

Each week throughout the academic year, RSL AZ will honor a Student-Athlete of the Week who has excelled in the classroom, extracurricular activities, and on the field. In May, all Student-Athlete of the Week winners will be in consideration for the Student-Athlete of the Year award. The Student-Athlete of the Year winner will receive a $500 scholarship that can be used for either soccer or college.

Every coach at RSL AZ is eligible to nominate a player of any age from any team. Please email Garrett Cleverly to nominate a player.
