Kaitlyn Klein, RSL AZ West Valley 2007 Girls, is this week's Chapman Automotive Group RSL AZ Student-Athlete of the Week.

RSL AZ's Charity Golf Tournament is right around the corner. Register your foursome and purchase raffle tickets here

Kaitlyn, a seventh-grader, volunteers with the National Elementary Honors Society (NEHS) at her school. This past year she volunteered her time to help set up for a Veterans Day celebration at her school while making cards as well. She helped load and deliver activity bags filled with toys for the children at Banner Thunderbird Hospital. Kaitlyn also takes regularly scheduled guitar lessons outside of school and often challenges herself to learn new songs. She can play acoustic as well as electric guitar.

On the field, Kaitlyn has come on this season as a force at the Center Back position. She has taken ownership of her position and she has become a player that her teammates can depend on whether building out of the back or defending the breakaways.

"Kaitlyn's progress on the field has set her apart from many of the other players at her age. Her intelligence on and off the field and willingness to give back off the field make her an excellent example of what type of young adults that play within the RSL-AZ organization," said coach Jeff Kelly.

Each week throughout the academic year, RSL AZ will honor a Student-Athlete of the Week who has excelled in the classroom, extracurricular activities, and on the field. In May, all Student-Athlete of the Week winners will be in consideration for the Student-Athlete of the Year award. The Student-Athlete of the Year winner will receive a $500 scholarship that can be used for either soccer or college.

Every coach at RSL AZ is eligible to nominate a player of any age from any team. Please email Garrett Cleverly to nominate a player.
