Julianna Palacios, RSL AZ West Valley 08 Girls Ramirez, is this week's Chapman Automotive Group RSL AZ Student-Athlete of the Week.
Julianna, an 8th grader, volunteers at NANA Ministries where she visits and plays with children who live at home. Every Saturday, Julianna provides food and necessities to those in Phoenix who live on the streets - in partnership with Bags of Love Outreach, Matthew's Crossing, and the Midwest Food Bank. She even got her teammates involved as a few joined her a few weekends ago.
On the field, Julianna has shown versatility in playing multiple positions. She excels at the forward position scoring more than 50 goals in all competitions last year and coming close to surpassing that this year.
"Julianna is an exemplary example of a young lady that displays a caring attitude on and off the field. She is a well rounded young player with a bright future", said head coach Angel Ramirez.
Each week throughout the academic year, RSL AZ will honor a Student-Athlete of the Week who has excelled in the classroom, extracurricular activities, and on the field. In May, all Student-Athlete of the Week winners will be in consideration for the Student-Athlete of the Year award. The Student-Athlete of the Year winner will receive a $500 scholarship that can be used for either soccer or college.
Every coach at RSL AZ is eligible to nominate a player of any age from any team. Please email Garrett Cleverly to nominate a player.
