Six RSL AZ Players Named To U.S. Soccer U-14 Regional Mini-Camp

PHOENIX (Friday, February 17th, 2023) -- Six RSL AZ players were named to an upcoming U.S. Soccer U-14 regional mini-camp which will be held at the Elite Athlete Training Center in Chula Vista.

RSL AZ had the most players named out of all non MLS Academies.

  • RSL AZ MLS NEXT is hosting an ID Session for all 2011 boys. You do not need to be an RSL AZ player to participate. This ID Session is free and four more are scheduled with the next one on February 17th. Click here for more dates and registration
     

Heading to California is goalkeeper Oliver Lopez Aceves, defender Jaxson Hall, midfielders Jesus Cota Monzon, Jonah Giorgis, and Noah DaSilva and forward  Anthony Capetillo Hernandez.

All six players compete on the 2009 RSL AZ MLS Next team which is 12-1-4 and averaging 3.5 goals per match while conceding just .6 goals per match. See highlights from this team and the rest of the RSL AZ MLS NEXT teams on our Instagram here.

U.S. Soccer Talent ID staff will oversee the mini-camp, including Talent ID Director Tony Lepore and Talent ID Managers Gabe Farfan (West), Rob Irvine (East) and Chris Kranjc (South). U-15 MYNT head coach Tom Heinneman will also be on hand, as well as a number of YNT network scouts from across the West Region.

80 players were named and all were players were born in 2009 and come from either Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, Utah or Washington.
