RSL AZ will be recognizing an RSL AZ North, South, West Valley, Yuma, and Southern AZ team as the Team of the Month every month from September to May.

Teams will not only be recognized for their performance on the field, but off the field as well.

Check out the November Teams of the Month below!

North
Some of these boys have been playing together for close to 8 years. The bond they have with each other is more than just teammates, they are brothers. Coach Kenny has coached some of these boys for 6 years. This year the team is playing up in the 2005 age group as a true 2006 team and they have been competing well. They have won multiple tournaments together and continue to put in the work at practices. Multiple injuries this year have kept some players out for months, weeks, and days at a time but they continue to pick up the pieces for the missing players as they always have. The hard work and the dedication each of these players gives is why they are the team they are. You won’t find any negative talk around this group. They all play for each other. Off the field, more than half the team holds at least a 4.0 GPA. The next steps for the players on this team will be showcase tournaments and colleges.

South
What a group of young athletes we have in the U9 Boys team! While the boys are young in age, they are playing at a much higher level. I’m so proud of the dedication and determination these players have shown. I was so impressed with their amazing victory at the La Joya Labor Day Classic tournament; their first out-of-state competition! We are excited to play in Vegas this January for only their second time playing outside of Arizona. Most of the boys are skilled multi-sport athletes; all are disciplined and hard-working and give their all to each practice session and game. They are continuing to improve with each new skill learned. We have such a strong support system in their families that continue to come out and cheer, and I’m so proud of the foundation that we’ve built. We care about development over wins on this team, and each player shows incredible sportsmanship and comradery to each other. We strive to encourage one another and continue to build self-confidence and leadership on and off the field.

Tucson
The 07/08 girls train in Sahuarita, AZ, with many of the girls playing together for well over three seasons. Our team has continuously evolved each season with the current team playing its best soccer. The team's exceptional teamwork and dedication on and off the field have helped us elevate our game to an undefeated league season. As we continue to grow, we look forward to competing at the next level.

Yuma
The 2011 Yuma Boys have come a long way in their development from the AZDL 1 last season to the NPL 1 this season. Each player comes with a different set of skills that makes the team function as one. The team has welcomed 4 new players this year coming from recreational leagues and some with no prior experience on a team. The hard work, through the summer and fall, is beginning to show, and the passion for the game keeps growing. Along with long travels to league games and tournaments, our parents have kept the commitment to this team. Thank you to all for trusting the process.

West
These talented young ladies have come into this season with intense passion, focus, and discipline. These attributes are now being displayed when the girls hit the pitch. So far this season, they have a winning record and have recorded multiple clean sheets. The team culture surrounding the players, parents, and coaches is truly special.
