RSL AZ Curriculum - Week #9
Buildup - Create Gaps & Skip Lines

Who: GK, defenders & defensive midfielders as catalysts to connect vertically with forwards as TARGET players.

What: Connecting VERTICAL passes in Buildup to bypass opponent's high press by creating "diamond shapes" with a forward TARGET option to exploit GAP between opponent's defensive line.

Where: Zone 1 with progression in buildup into Zone 2 and more specifically finding space between opponent's midfield and defensive lines.

When: When opponent is high pressing in Zone 1.

Why: When an opponent over commits numbers high up the field, we can exploit of SPACE they are giving up behind their midfield and in front of their backline to progress.
