RSL AZ Curriculum - Week #15
Transition: Attacking -> Defending 2 - Delay Progress to Re-Organize Lines

Who: Defenders and defensive midfielders who are between the ball and the goal.

What: Delay the play by DROPPING and protecting space behind the backline to force play to stay in "front".

Where: Mainly Zone 2(middle 3rd) as opponent progresses into our Zone 1(defensive 3rd).

When: The moment we have lost possession of the ball and opponent is already past(further up the field than) our attacking players.

Why: Backline and defensive midfielders must make the opponent take as much time as possible to allow our teammates to RECOVER back behind the ball so we can regain our defensive BLOCK.
