RSL AZ Curriculum - Week #16
Transition: Defending -> Attacking 2 - Verticality to Exploit Opposition: “Counter Attack”

Who: Mainly Midfielders, Forwards & Outside Backs.

What: Quickly progressing the ball forward before the defense has time to organize their defensive shape.

Where: Mainly beginning in our Zone 1(defensive 3rd) or 2(middle 3rd) and then progressing into Zone 3(attacking 3rd).

When: Once possession has been regained and opponent has players in advanced attacking positions.

Why: To look to create quick goal scoring opportunities by exploiting the space in Zone 3 before the opponent has time to recover and protect that space.
