Legacy 04 Boys have advanced to the 2016 US Youth Soccer Region IV Championships quarterfinals after winning all three group games at the Stenger Soccer Complex in Colorado.

The 04 Boys are the first Legacy boys team to advance to the quarterfinals of Region IV.

Legacy 04 opened up group play with a 2-1 win over Surf SC from Hawaii. The next game was against Washington's Crossfire Premier, one of the top teams in the country.

After a back-and-forth game Legacy, up 2-1, was whistled for a penalty with less than five minutes left. Goalkeeper Aidan Klein made a huge pro style save to secure a Legacy victory.

These two victories were enough for Legacy to advance to the next round. Playing for pride and a better seed in the quarterfinals, the 04 Boys went out and defeated Real Colorado 3-1 in the final group match.

"We came up here expecting to play well. The boys really stepped up and have done such a great job," said head coach Pat Jackson. "Aidan's save was huge and I really have to give credit to this team. After securing a spot in the quarterfinals they really pushed hard in the third game. We suffered an earlier loss to Real Colorado in October so it was great to see our players bounce back. This team loves playing together. That's what makes this so special. I'm very proud of all of them."

Up next for the 04 Boys is a Friday morning match against Seattle United 03 Copa at 10:00 a.m. The semifinals will be played on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. with the championship on Sunday at 8:00 a.m.

Good luck to the 04 Boys!
