Real Salt Lake Arizona is excited to announce the addition of Jenny Jeffers and Dan Soutar to the coaching staff for the 2018-2019 season.

Jenny Jeffers

For the past five years Jenny has worked as a head coach and futsal coordinator for the Scottsdale Blackhawks and will continue to work as the assistant director of Coerver Arizona.  Jenny will work with the U11 girls and on the RSL-AZ Development Academy Staff. Her passion for teaching technical excellence was fueled by her coaches in Chicago, IL exposing her to beach soccer, indoor soccer and futsal on the hard court.  These experiences drove her as a student athlete at University of Tennessee then later playing professionally all over the world.  Jenny takes great pride as she influences players to excel in both their individual skills on the field but also carry that confidence into their lives and their futures.

“I genuinely look forward to working with an organization that is promoting, not only female coaches at the highest level of the youth game, but a pathway/exposure to the professional ranks for girls in our state. There is always lot of talk about women’s college soccer and getting to the national team, but there is still not enough buzz about the women’s professional game in this county. I am so pleased to be able to be a small part of promoting and advancing that in our state and I can’t wait to get to work with all of the coaches and players!” – Jenny Jeffers

In the words of RSL-AZ Technical Director, Brent Erwin, “We are so proud to have Jenny Jeffers join us at RSL-AZ and the Royal Academy.  She is a talented coach and a wonderful person who will be a positive role model and coach for our young women from the youngest ages into the Royals Academy.  Seeing the care and concern she has for the young people she works with is inspiring, and from the moment we met her we knew she would be a perfect fit for our club.  Jenny will coach the 2008 girls pool, but is a technical specialist for the club and will make a huge impact on our young women.  We want to ensure that every young woman in RSL-AZ are comfortable with the ball and have excellent technical ability and that is where Jenny will focus.  I am excited for the girls to work with her.  Welcome Jenny to RSL-AZ and the Royals Academy!!”

Dan Soutar

Dan will coach the U12 and U13 girls.  He has coached soccer for the past 16 years across both the USA and England.  While in England, Dan coached in the youth development centers for Arsenal, West Ham, and Southampton.  He has been coached state and far west regional level teams in Arizona for the past 10 years as well as coaching at Pinnacle High School.

“ I am very excited to join RSL AZ, I look forward to working with the world class coaching staff in this professional organization to help provide the best possible experience to youth players.“ – Dan Soutar

In the words of RSL-AZ Technical Director, Brent Erwin, “I was very fortunate to coach against a team coached by Dan Soutar this spring and was very impressed by the quality of his teaching and the warmth with which he spoke with his players.  Dan is a true educator and is a perfect addition to our club.  Dan will work in helping us in our Recreation program, which is a major focus of our club and the starting point of soccer for kids in the Valley, as well as our 2007 and 2006 girls with Doug Shank.  It is vital that our kids in those age groups get the very best coaching and education and Dan is a huge addition to the program.  Dan is a fantastic person as well as coach and we are honored to have him with RSL-AZ!”
