What Players Need
Note: If uniform was purchased in 2022-2023 Fall, Winter, or Spring Excel seasons the same uniform will be used for the 2023-24 Fall, Winter or Spring Excel seasons.
Mandatory Equipment (must have both red and white jersey):
2 jerseys *(red & white), 1 black short, 1 black sock

- Adult Size: $66.05 package includes a soccer ball, free shipping
Purchase of the ball is not mandatory however shipping costs may incur without it. Uniforms will be used each season for 2 years.

OTHER RECOMMENDED BUT OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT:
- Soccer Cleats: Soccer cleats are recommended but not required. Baseball/Football cleats are not permitted. These shoes have a front-toe cleat that is not permitted in soccer.
- Shin Guards: Shin guards must be worn under the socks.
- Practice gear: Shorts, Shirt, Socks, Shinguards
- Soccer ball size guide: Size 3 for U4-U8, Size 4 for U9-U12, Size 5 for U13-U17
EXCEL PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The RSL-AZ Excel U6-U11 program is the bridge between the RSL-AZ "Recreational" Program and the RSL-AZ "Competitive" program. These RSL-AZ Excel teams play in the RSL-AZ Recreational league but are coached by the RSL-AZ professional coaching staff. When we get enough RSL-AZ Excel registrations in a age group we'll form a division of only RSL-AZ Excel teams who will only play other RSL-AZ Excel teams, otherwise we play in divisions that have both Rec and Excel teams. In some cases some of our Excel teams will play up one age group in a flighted age bracket. Some seasons we'll combine 2 age groups because of the number of players who have registered or to match up with the Rec combined divisions for league games.
During the Fall and Winter seasons, the RSL-AZ Excel U6-U11 teams will play in our club-sponsored Tournaments; Holiday Classic (December) and Ostrich Tournament (March). For our Spring RSL-AZ Excel season, RSL-AZ Excel teams only play league games and no tournaments as there are no RSL-AZ sponsored Tournaments in the spring.
Although these RSL-AZ Excel teams differ from our competitive RSL-AZ teams they give players a chance to play on a team that has the similar support program the competitive RSL-AZ teams have including the RSL-AZ coaching staff. Playing on an RSL-AZ Excel team is an excellent way to prepare for our annual competitive RSL-AZ May tryouts.
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
- In some cases, the RSL-AZ Excel teams will play in a division with only other RSL-AZ Excel teams when we have enough teams.
- In some cases RSL-AZ Excel teams will play up one age group.
- Months of RSL-AZ level professional coaches training (2 weekly practices) NOTE: Practice days/times vary depending on our coaches' availability.
- Fall 8 games – Winter 8 Games - Spring 7 Games.
- Tournament games for U6-U11’s in the Fall and Winter extend the length of their Fall and Winter seasons. There are no Tournament games in the Spring.
- Specialize Goalkeeper training offered weekly by our professional RSL-AZ Rec/Excel Goalkeeper coach.
- Competitive training atmosphere with one of our RSL-AZ level professional coaches.
- Advantages of the competitive RSL-AZ program.
Fall EXCEL teams will also participate in our Holiday Classic Tournament Dec 8-10th.
Winter EXCEL teams will also participate in our Ostrich Festival Tournament March 8-10th.
