TACTICAL PRINCIPLE: Interchange Positions to Prevent Progress

TECHNICAL SUB-PRINCIPLES(Coaching Points)

  • If LB pulled wide, the CM or CB must track runners in behind OBs
  • If CB forces player wide, OB recovery needs to be inside
  • Look to deny cross
  • Defenders recover into the box
  • Back line broken with ball in behind, recover inside and weakside defenders protect the goal
